Resume : Envoyé à 21 ans en Turquie pendant son service militaire, Jacques Prévert y fait la connaissance de Marcel Duhamel. De retour à Paris, ils s'installent dans le quartier de Montparnasse qui va devenir le coeur de l'avant-garde des années 1920. Entre petits boulots et fêtes enivrantes, Prévert fait la connaissance d'Aragon, Breton, Desnos, avec lesquels il écrit quelques-unes des plus belles pages du surréalisme. Mais la politisation de Breton ébranle le groupe d'amis. Viscéralement indépendant, Jacques Prévert prend ses distances vis-à-vis d'un mouvement avec lequel il ne va pas tarder à rompre et fait de nouvelles rencontres déterminantes, notamment avec Giacometti et Pierre Batcheff. S'ouvre alors pour lui une nouvelle carrière de scénariste.
